KNOW THE TANK BEFORE THE PROPERTY CHANGES HANDS
A written report on the condition of the water tanks, with photos, for agents, buyers, sellers and landlords.
Short answer
Why get a water tank inspection when you buy or sell a property?
On a rural or semi rural property the tank is often the only water supply. A building inspection usually does not look inside it. A tank inspection tells the buyer and the seller what condition the liner, roof, walls and bands are in, and what any repair will cost, before the contract is signed.
The work
What we do, and why
Who the inspection is for
We do tank inspections for: - Buyers who want to know what they are buying before settlement - Sellers who want to fix problems before the property goes on the market - Real estate agents who need a clear answer for a buyer - Property managers and landlords with tanks on rental properties - Banks and valuers who ask about the water supply
What we check
We look at every tank on the property.
What we check: - The liner, for tears, wear and leaks - The walls, for rust, cracks and movement - The bands on concrete tanks, where bands are installed - The roof, the trusses and the hatch - The inlets, the overflow and the leaf baskets - The water level, and signs that the tank is losing water - The pad and the ground around the base
What you get
You get a written report with photos. It gives the condition of each tank in plain words and lists the work we recommend.
If a repair is needed, we give you a quote for it. A buyer and a seller can use the report and the quote to agree on a price.
What drives the cost
Cost is driven by how many tanks are on the property, how big they are and where the property is.
Every inspection gets a firm quote before we book it.
How long it takes
Most properties take a few hours on site. The report is usually sent within a few working days.
If settlement is close, tell us the date when you call. We will tell you when we can do the inspection and send the report.

Yes. An agent, a buyer, a seller or a property manager can book it. Tell us who the report goes to when you call.
No. We inspect the tank with the water in it. If we see a problem that we can only confirm with the tank drained, the report says so.
Often, yes. It depends on the work and the settlement date. We give you a quote and a date, and you decide.
